“American Idol Rewind” hits the airways on September 30, 2006 on Fox affiliates across the country and is scheduled to air for 26 weeks in 90 countries around the world. The show will rewind time and replay the first season of the hit reality TV show where Kelly Clarkson catapulted from American Idol Winner to Grammy Award Winner. American Idol Rewind recently interviewed Jim in Los Angeles and then flew a camera crew out to Chicago to capture Jim in the recording studio and during a fashion shoot with well known Chicago Photographer Paul Sherman. Jim has released Rollercoaster - his highly anticipated new album on Koch Records. Released on April 26, 2005, the album has been praised by critics and fans alike. Jim wrote and recorded the new material with his producer Gabe Lopez and with fellow American Idol semi finalist Angela Peel. With the first single, "You Turn It On" reaching #21 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Chart, JV fans will enjoy the equally hot new single, "You're Getting Crazy."
Billboard Magazine review: "American Idol" season-one finalist Jim Verraros is aiming current CD "Rollercoaster" at his dancefloor brethren, and so far, so good: Previous single "You Turn It On" reached No. 21 on the Billboard Club Play chart. Follow-up "You're Getting Crazy" treads in similar territory, stirring the beats into a simmering frenzy. The album version conjures memories of Britney Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U," but two remixes —served up in radio edit, vocal and dub versions—offer club-friendly alternatives. With a video showcasing Verraros' pretty-boy looks and slick moves, "Crazy" could hit its mark. —Chuck Taylor, Billboard Magazine.
Jim's hit indie-flick, Eating Out, won Best Feature Film at the Phoenix International Film Festival and the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival. At the European premiere in London, the film was awarded the Centerpiece Screening. Check out details at http://www.poshpictures.com. The film was released to DVD on July 26, 2005 through Ariztical Entertainment.
New York Times review: The one surprise in the cast is Mr. Verraros, a former contestant on "American Idol," in his first acting role, as the queeny, scheming Kyle. Despite the limitations of the role as written, he has a scrappy energy that sets him apart from the bland and vulgar proceedings. —Dana Stevens, The New York Times.
